Introduction and History of the Microprocessor

Introduction and History of the Microprocessor
Microprocessor is an Multipurpose, Programmable clock driven register based integrated circuit that reads binary instruction from storage device accepts binary as a input and process data to their instruction or provides result as output.
Each microprocessor communicates and operates the binary number 0 and 1 Calles bits.
Each microprocessor has fixed set of instruction in the form of binary pattern called machine language.

Application of Microprocessor

Microprocessor can be used in various field some of them are:-
·         Test instruction:   -- microprocessor are widely used in devices such as digital multimeter digital signal generator, X-ray analyzes etc.
·         Communication :-- Microprocessor are used in Satellite television mobile communication etc.
·         Computer :--  Microprocessor are  used in computer system as a central processing unit. Personal computer laptops palmtop erc.
·         Industries :-    In the field of industry microprocessor is used in monitoring and controlling system.

The microprocessor is divided into three segments:

aa) Arithmetic/Logic  Unit: -                This is the area of Microprocessor where various computing function are performed on data . The ALU units perform such arithmetic operations as addition and subtraction and such logic operation as AND,OR And Exclusive OR .
   b)    Register Array :-               This area of Microprocessor consists of various register identified by letter such as B,C,D,E,H,L . those register are primarity of execution of a program and are accessible to the user through instruction .
      C)       Control Units:- The control units provides the necessary timing and control signals to all the operations in the microprocessor it control the flow of data between microprocessor and memory and peripherals. The input and outputs device that can be connect with microprocessor is called Peripherals.
